Software Reviews of iWork '09Customer Review: Very Versatile Office Suite Summary: 5 StarsThis make more than text documents! This delves into many projects you may wish to take care of, at work or home, from calendars, to birthday cards, iWork has you covered.
Customer Review: iWork for newsletter publishing Summary: 3 StarsComparing iWork to MS Office, I wish there were more design options readily accessible on iWork. Overall, the different sample templates are nicely designed, but there's fewer master designs, compared with Publisher and other MS Office programs.
It's quite user friendly logic - most everything is readily available in the inspector, media, colors & font drop downs. However, a clip art library isn't directly available (unless I haven't figured out where it is yet). But, photo inserting is SO easy from computer files!
I'm in a learning curve so my '3' rating will likely improve with more practice.
Customer Review: iwork 09 Summary: 4 StarsI have not used all aspects of it, but what I have used I am happy with.
Customer Review: I Use It All the Time On My Macbook Summary: 5 StarsI don't use i Life nearly as much as I do i Work. i Work 09 is a splendid product which far and away outshines Microsoft's Office suite, for a fraction of the price. There is Pages, which is the Mac's Word+, Keynote, which is the Mac's Power Point+ and Numbers which is the Excel+. I put + after each of these because these programs work so much better than the Microsoft ones and have so many more features. I have constructed terrific documents and presentations with both Pages and Keynote. Frankly, I think you would be crazy to use MS's Office Suite on your Mac. Within the program itself is the ability to convert the file you've created into numerous other file formats, all of which are used on platforms besides the Mac, like doc and ppt. i Work also works very well with Adobe Acrobat Pro 09 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac.
Customer Review: A great value Summary: 5 StarsI downloaded a demo of this suite and loved Pages so much--especially its full-screen mode--that I had to have it. I really enjoy writing with it. It takes a little getting used to if you've been using Word for a while. But now it's become my main writing tool at home. Keynote is really intuitive presentation program, and Numbers is a fine spreadsheet application. I'm still getting into those, but Pages alone was worth the price. I had been using NeoOffice, which is really good, but iWork has a lot more polish. It's really well thought out.
