Software Reviews of iWork '09Customer Review: iWork Summary: 5 StarsEasy to use and no problem to convert the files between MS Office and iWork.
Customer Review: Not as easy to use as Microsoft Office Summary: 3 StarsI gave this product only 3 stars because I had great difficulty downsizing a spreadsheet to fit on one page. Now this may mostly be because I have used Microsoft Office for well over 10 years and know how to do things quickly and efficiently in Excel and Word. Obviously Apple may not be able to copy Microsoft's exact way of handling data but I still believe that Microsoft Office is superior. I still fumble around trying to do something as simple as jump to the end of a line on the Mac. This maneuver is extremely simple in Word and all other areas on the wintel computer. Even spell correcting is hidden away on the iMac and the Apple store clerk had to show me where to find it and activate it.
I purchased an iMac to do video editing because I heard that iMovie was far superior to Sony's Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and iMovie is superior in ease of use to Sony's Vegas but a 5 year old with crayons and an 8mm movie camera can get work out faster than someone using Sony's editing software.
The old idea that Macs and there operating system are easier to use is only true in some areas.
Customer Review: like work? now you do Summary: 5 StarsI have run into no problems user-wise or compatibility-wise.
great product at a better price, way to go apple/amazon
Customer Review: Very Versatile Office Suite Summary: 5 StarsThis make more than text documents! This delves into many projects you may wish to take care of, at work or home, from calendars, to birthday cards, iWork has you covered.
Customer Review: iWork for newsletter publishing Summary: 3 StarsComparing iWork to MS Office, I wish there were more design options readily accessible on iWork. Overall, the different sample templates are nicely designed, but there's fewer master designs, compared with Publisher and other MS Office programs.
It's quite user friendly logic - most everything is readily available in the inspector, media, colors & font drop downs. However, a clip art library isn't directly available (unless I haven't figured out where it is yet). But, photo inserting is SO easy from computer files!
I'm in a learning curve so my '3' rating will likely improve with more practice.
