Software Reviews of Mac OS X Version 10.5.6 Leopard

Customer Review: Great but.......
Summary: 3 Stars

I love OS X but I've had more system crashes with this version (10.5) in three weeks than 3 years with OS 10.4. But its still more stable than Windows. Some of the new additions are interesting. Spaces is kind of neat but I don't really use it. I think it would be very useful for working on simultaneous projects. I can't see where Stacks is an improvement. The Find command in the Finders is less intuitive. Time Machine is too obvious. I don't see what is so great about it. Mail offers RSS feeds, which is nice. But overall, I wish I had stayed with 10.4.11. I love that version. In conclusion, it may not be worth the trouble. I hope I discover more to like as I explore it more; but I don't really recommend this upgrade.

Excellent SW product. Just make sure you read and understand the instructions before booting from the CD for the installation.

Love it - using it on a G4 Quicksilver 867 mhz so I am pushing it, but it is cool!

Customer Review: Good upgrade.

Great OS. Had to upgrade from Tiger (10.4) to get access to core features required for upgrades of key software titles I use. Glad I did! The ability to easily view another 10.5 shared desktop is too cool. It was possible before, but nowhere near this easy.

Customer Review: Great upgrade from 10.39. Fast, reliable.

The Leopard upgrade--for me from Panther 10.39--is a big jump. I was having problems with my Panther system crashing on several websites. It was just too out of date. Leopard, now updated to 10.56 from Apple, is great. It is faster than Panther, even though I am using the same computer, a G4 Imac. I especially like mail. It has features that are handy and very different from Panther, like "notes" and "to do", which are neat ways to remind myself of things to think of and do. The look for mail and the placement of some of the buttons is different also and better. The color schemes on Leopard are attractive and very different. I feel like I have a new computer! And best of all, Leopard does everything on the web. All links work, all videos play, everything I want to do I can now do. I highly recommend Leopard.
