Software Reviews of Mac OS X Version 10.5.6 LeopardCustomer Review: Great! Summary: 5 StarsThis was a great purchase from Amazon. Fast shipping and the price was insane. Much cheaper than Apple. Great product too I am very very happy with Leopard over my previous Tiger. I can't believe but actually Tiger was beginning to get sluggish on me, and have a few kinks. Instead of just reinstalling Tiger I decided it was time to go Leopard and I will never look back!
Customer Review: Mission Accomplished Summary: 5 StarsPurchased 10.5 to upgrade my first generation Intel MacBook that was shipped with 10.4 I installed it on a new hard drive and am very happy with the performance increase and new functionality.
Customer Review: Quick and easy Summary: 5 StarsProduct shipped on time and was easy to install. Don't necessarily listen to all those blogs out there that said Leopard crashed their system or screwed this that and the third up. I had NO PROBLEMS with this software. It's great!
Customer Review: Mail & iCal problems Summary: 1 StarsSince up(?)grading from (rock solid) Tiger I've had problems in these key areas. There's nothing unnatural about my machine... it's as vanilla as they come.
Mail was a problem following the install but fixed after one call to Apple service. (Apple's telephone response and service are excellent- their solutions need some help.. see below.)
iCal is an intermittent problem. I cannot rely on iCal's reminder system... it has failed me four times in the last four days. Apple service suggested "archive & install... which means saving settings & data but reloading the operating system, then adding the archived files to the system.
Their poor software development has become my burden... I'll reload the system to see IF the problem is fixed.
Maybe this type of "fix" is why Leopard is in trouble. Why doesn't Apple get the code from my reminders that failed and analyze them? Did they hire some Vista engineers?
One more thing... it doesn't shut down properly about half the time.
I wouldn't move to Leopard again.
Customer Review: Mac OS X is great. Summary: 5 StarsI was able to upgrade my iMac I bought in early 2006 AND my 2003 Powerbook with this Leopard OS X version. Both machines run excellent and fast.
